Dedicated to the memory of Francis Mainoo

ANNOUNCEMENT

It is with deep sadness that the Mainoo family announces the death of our much-loved husband, father, son and brother, Francis Mainoo. Born in London on 13th February 1974 Francis lived an astonishing life of kindness and devotion to his family and friends.  He touched the hearts of people who knew him. We are devastated and words cannot describe how desperately we will miss him, but he will always remain in our hearts.  A funeral service will be held at a date to be announced.

Words cannot describe the gap he leaves behind, and it is painful knowing he won't be here to see his 8-year-old-son Jakob, who he absolutely adored, grow up.

Francis was so very proud of Jakob, and was wholly dedicated to doing all he could to secure a wonderful future for him. Jakob's education was extremely important to Francis, and he dreamt of making sure Jakob had every opportunity ahead of him for a happy and fulfilled life.

Christiane and the family now face the sad reality of life without Francis, and the road ahead will be tough. Our hope is that through the GoFundMe page linked below we can support the future Francis wanted for Jakob.

Thoughts

Francis was about to become my mentor, after Josh generously introduced us. We met just twice, but he made such an impression that I also feel shocked and saddened. What an amazing man. It was obvious immediately Francis was a terrific listener as well as being great to listen to. A man with a huge heart, and I will take the luck of having met him as further fire to support the more deeply multicultural world we shared a vision to help develop. My love to all of you that had the luck to know him well.

The following was published in the January 2024 edition of Professional Marketing magazine I am among those who first came across him when he was head of business development at Grant Thornton. Despite being a pioneer and early leader in quietly establishing the sales discipline in professional services marketing, he remained a dedicated, modest and enthusiastic professional. He was one of those rare and incredible individuals who managed to be both larger than life yet a calm, friendly and reassuring presence who put others first. He always made an impact – professionally and personally. He made a significant mark in another strategic business development role at Moore Kingston Smith and was universally admired and liked by senior partners, the marketing and support teams and clients. He effortlessly transitioned into ever more senior and strategic roles whilst retaining his accessible, down-to-earth and helpful nature. He took on non-executive roles in his stride. His drive led to him setting up a coaching and consultancy business early in 2023 and he was clearly Ontrack for even greater success. I find it hard to accept the tragic news of his sudden passing as it was only September where we saw his quiet wisdom and boundless energy on stage at the PM Forum conference. So many will miss him, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family

I am writing a lot later than planned as I am still processing the loss of this giant. Francis and I shared quite a few mentees and we both had passion for empowering the next generation of smart professionals. He always encouraged me to life life to the full and he definitely did that himself. Will miss you soldier. Rest well
